About Inner Man

A few days away should feel normal.

Inner Man is run by Oliver Davies, a person-centred counsellor with a particular interest in men who feel under pressure but are not always sure how to talk about it.

So the retreats are built around something more natural: doing things together, eating well, getting outside your normal routine and letting conversation happen without forcing it.

The aim is not to turn anyone into a new man by Sunday afternoon. It is to give men a proper break and something useful to take back into everyday life.

Connection through doing.

We do not believe you can force people to connect. Shared experiences make it easier to relax, build trust and talk when the time is right. You can speak, listen, take part or take a bit of space. There is no single right way to do an Inner Man retreat.

Grounded, practical and human.

Oliver’s counselling work is grounded, straightforward and non-judgemental. You can read more about that at Oliver Davies Counselling.

Before becoming a counsellor, Oliver spent years around the ocean. Surfing shaped a lot of how he thinks about uncertainty, steadiness and learning how to respond when life does not feel calm.

Inner Man retreats are shaped by that experience, but they are not counselling or group therapy. They are a few days away with shared activity, good food, humour, rest and space for honest conversations if people want them.
